Access to Care

The priority of the Access to Care Standing Committee is to improve access to high quality, comprehensive, continuous oral health services for all New Yorkers.

Communications

The Communications committee has been researching methods to provide ongoing and regular promotion of oral health disparities in NYS that includes descriptive information about the NYS Oral Health Coalition, its activities and provides links to best practices and related on-line information that reflect the mission and vision of the Coalition.

Research and Surveillance

The committee addresses the following issues: gaps in the existing Oral Health Surveillance Program in New York State; identification of additional oral health indicators; collection and dissemination of data; identification of partners; and assessment of evaluation needs and how to address them.

 Workforce

The oral health Workforce Committee aims to assess: the workforce with respect to number, type, diversity and distribution; the capacity of the workforce and training to meet the current and future needs; opportunities for recruitment and retention. The Committee also proposes strategies for addressing workforce needs.

Public Policy

Explore and identify which policies have the potential to reduce disease burden, improve access, and enhance quality and efficiency in oral health care.

Fluoridation

Ad Hoc

The mission of the committee is to preserve and protect the fluoridation of municipal water supplies in communities in New York State and to promote fluoridation in communities that currently are not severed by this safe, economic and proven public

health prevention program. The committee provides education to counteract the misinformation available on the internet.
