The New York State Dental Foundation’s annual fall conference is a recognized forum for presenting world-renowned experts who have innovative solutions to oral health care problems. This year the Foundation is partnering with Columbia University College of Dental Medicine to present a conference that will examine the link between oral and systemic diseases, and explore how dentistry and medicine can work together to control and prevent disease.

Conference learning objectives include:

• Effects of peridontal disease in patients with diabetes mellitus
• Association between periodontal infections and cardiovascular disease
• Connections between poor oral health and pneumonia
• Interventions that reduce the risk of pneumonia
• How to scrren for drug use
• Impact of common drugs on oral health
• Disease causation and pharmacology efficacy of tobacco cessation
